In a testament to its commitment to community and holistic health, Yanick Baillargeon’s training methods at The Muscle Factory have yielded impressive results, turning his gym into the training ground for World Record holders following the Strongman Competition .
Established in 2015, The Muscle Factory is a distinctive gym offering bodybuilding, strength and endurance training, and rehabilitation programs for individuals of all ages, sizes, and abilities. Baillargeon, who began strength training at the age of 14 and entered his first competition at 16, found solace and confidence at the gym in the face of bullying, low self-esteem, and anxiety. His philosophy revolves around the belief that physical strength enhances not only physical wellness but also emotional, mental, and social well-being. Currently holding the Seniors third-place world record for the Hex Bar Deadlift at an impressive 422.72 kilograms, Baillargeon’s dedication to holistic fitness is evident.
After just four months of training under Baillargeon’s guidance, 69-year-old Rick Cochrane surpassed his initial goal of increasing endurance and clinched the World Championship for the Masters 60+ Hex Bar Deadlift with a lift weight of 227.27kg. Cochrane, a lifelong gym-goer, opted for personal training to build muscle mass and increase bone density.
Expressing his pride, Cochrane states, “I am proud of my achievements but also proud of my trainer for getting me there.”
Mary Logan, gearing up for the Sudbury Strongman Competition in the 60+ class, shares her empowering journey, saying, “I had a heart bypass at 44, am diabetic, and also had back surgery. The camaraderie of other fitness-oriented people and the personal challenge empower me.” Logan, who first competed in 2020, increased her lift weight from 45pds to 185pds.
Yanick Baillargeon’s holistic approach resonates with Crystal Foreman, his fiancée and a personal trainer at The Muscle Factory, who now holds two world records. Foreman emphasizes, “If you beat your best, you become the best version of yourself.”
Baillargeon encourages everyone to feel welcome at the gym, asserting, “Coming to the gym is about self-betterment – You are your own competition.”
The Muscle Factory, under Baillargeon’s leadership, has evolved into a hub for building strength, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and fostering personal growth. Welcoming individuals of all fitness levels, the gym provides a range of services and amenities to help achieve health and wellness goals.
