Guwahati, August 12, 2024 – The Modern English School in Kahilipara, Guwahati, played host to the inaugural All Assam Inter-School Yogasana Championship on Saturday. The event, marked by vibrant enthusiasm, showcased the yoga prowess of young students from across Assam.
This premier championship attracted participants from over 35 schools and saw the involvement of approximately 140 students. The competition was held in two categories: traditional yoga and artistic yoga. A distinguished panel of judges, including Arunim Bora, Azad Hazarika, Debajit Nath, Ganananda Barman, Kaushik Das, Krishna Das, Manas Sarma, Nabalakhi Gogoi, Sukhamay Nath, and Suranjan Debnath, presided over the events.
Manmohan Das, a member of the MES Trust Board, graced the occasion with his presence, underscoring the significance of the championship. Jonali Das, Principal of Modern English School, conveyed her pride in hosting the event, stating, “Hosting the 1st All Assam Inter-School Yogasana Championship is a great honor. It underscores the value of yoga in our students’ lives and fosters discipline and mindfulness. We are incredibly proud of the participants for their dedication and hard work.”
